  1. And plus Rojo moved his arm out so if you think about it, he could have touched the ball without heading it onto his arm

  2. I am being hosent, I am from nigeria and I do think we got robbed. We deserved to win that game and move on to the next stage of the world cup. If we had not been robbed, there could have ben a completely different storyline of the 2018 world cup. You never know.

  3. To avoid confusing the rules, penalty should be approached same way as owe goal. The player never intended to score against his or her team, if it's in the net, it's a goal all the time. Any ball to hand or hand to ball in the box should be penalty unfortunately. Strong effective rules should be standard, not to be left to individual referee interpretations. It takes away the bias, after all they are human which may prefer one team to the other regardless of their geographical origin. In the case of Nigeria vs Argentina WC 2018, if the referee was from Ghana; penalty would have been called. Too close to home!!!!!!!!

  4. It seems interesting how great sport analysts like these ESPN folks interpret the FIFA handball rule. They probably need to go read the FIFA handbook again because it is not stated anywhere that it is not a handball when the ball comes from an opponent to the hand. It states that if the handball is "deliberate." In my opinion, it is very subjective and the decision lies on the referee's shoulder because "deliberate" or the "intent" is undefined. So, you ESPN folks saying is not penalty, it is incorrect because how do you determine intent? According to the current FIFA handball rule, a handball is a handball because intent is undefined anywhere in the handbook; it is just like trying to determine intent for a tackle on a player.

  5. If I think his hand is not because of the element of deliberation, because He fits jumping his hand was lifted and his hands lifted before the ball touched the head, there it is obvious that the head ball first, meaning the direction of the ball random after he hit the head he did not know where the ball will go whereas the hands have lifted from the past, so why also he should throw the ball into the hand if he can directly throw the ball without having to touch the hand, so there I guess there is no element of deliberate.
So the reason the referee was due
    1. Ball to hand
    2. Unintentionally

PS: I think this is a smart referee because it can analyze the situation quickly and accurately

  6. Ok, i red that apparently the law says that if the ball goes to the hand is not a fault, but if the hand goes to the ball it is, based on this rule we are only taking consideration of the player that is the…. lets say the perpetrator, now, lets take a different approach, from the player of the opposite team, the victim, following the normal trajectory of the ball he could had easily scored per say….he was expecting the ball following certain trajectory and it does not get to his foot ready to strike the ball on the net because a hand gets on the way of the normal trajectory, from the nigerian side its a penalty dont you guys think?…..the hand( purposely or not) changed the trajectory of the ball.

  8. The defender headed the ball off of his own arm. How is that not a penalty? We've seen players kick a ball 100 mph at a guy's arm from 5 feet away and they call a penalty (with a red card too). This was nothing like that. The defender made a terrible play and headed the ball off his arm. This was a textbook penalty kick.

  9. The more I watch sports, the more I noticed how corrupted they are. In this world cup the refs had totally change the over all scoring of the games..Port vs Spain=a gift to Chritiano as penalty kick, Aust vs France=a gift to France as a penalty kick, Mex vs Sweden=a gift to Sweden as a penalty kick, Switz vs CosRica=a gift to CosRica to tie the game and so much more corrupted call from refs. I makes me sick to watch so much dirt in sport but this happens because people dont complain and they are for when these bad calls favors their teams….IT'S SAD!

  10. it pains me to watch these "professional futbol analysts" speak of the world cup, much less soccer overall. One didn't even know what group Nigeria is on.

  11. Honestly their is nothing you can say about it is just a penalty. ..we are all watching .Argentina is the worst team in this competition .England are the best ..and you makeing this show are all fools. You know is a penalty why are u going round and round fools.

  12. The laws that state it has to be "deliberate" are no help because you can't read someones mind. If the player gains an advantage from the handball it should be called.

  13. Difference between American commentators and football commentators. American commentators don't know football.

The difference, Portugal penal: player intentionally extends arm and changes course of ball.
Argentina penal: player does not have intentions to touch the ball. Ball goes to his arm.

    Commentators are unprepared.

These commentators put me to sleep. They're just doing their job for the month.

  14. Nigerian  are too ambitious to win Argentina .May be they should play more with central and east African countries so that   a develop their defending skills.

  16. It’s stupid that an unintentional and inconsequential hand ball might be a penalty. The rule is to stop people from knocking the ball out of the air, or something like that. Not to hand out penalty’s from accidentally hitting the ball with your arm, especially if it doesn’t matter.

  17. See, it is high time African teams learn they are not wanted in the world cup.. the officials will fuck everyone of the players Morales.

  18. Im neutral, my team even isnt on wc so im objectional.
I am from Europe, been watching, playng and living football since i was 5 yo and there is no fricking standards where this in not a penalty. Only blind person or Messi fan boy cant see that this is overlooked coz of Comercial reason. Messi is big name and fifa cant allow to lose sucha star name in sucha early phase! FIFA-MAFIA and CORRUPTION killing football that we know!! DISGUSTING

  19. Football politic is still in existence, referees still have in control of the game even if there is thousands of cameras on the pitch, good luck Argentina and i hope that it wouldn't be easy for you in this round 16 against France.
